My first project as the President of Plisko Sustainable Solutions is teaming with Shari Solomon of Clean Health Environmental to work with the Maryland Patient Safety Center on developing, implementing, and assessing the Clean Collaborative.
The premise is this: if we can provide up-to-date information, training, and measurement capabilities to hospitals, ambulatory care facilities, and long term care centers on improved cleaning and disinfection procedures then we can assist said facilities in reducing health care associated infections (HAIs). Of the many important components of this project I want to highlight two:
Quantifying and measuring the effectiveness of cleaning procedures over time, using an industry approved verification system, will equip facilities with the data needed to improve cleaning and disinfection practices.
Sharing industry best management practices among and between facilities and industry leaders will equip facilities with the knowledge needed to improve cleaning and disinfection practices.
Both data and knowledge are essential to implement meaningful and measurable change. This is an exciting opportunity for me to use my skills in creating sustainable solutions! Contact Joan at firstname.lastname@example.org
